1. Sponsor

The Promotion is sponsored and administered solely by Dr. Valerie Woo Consulting, 21785 Filigree Ct, Ashburn, VA 20147, United States of America (the “Sponsor”). You may reach the Sponsor at info@drvaleriewoo.com.

2. Eligibility

The Promotion is open only to natural persons who, at the time of entry, are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are eighteen (18) years of age or older, or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is greater. The Promotion is void in Puerto Rico, all other United States territories and possessions, and everywhere else outside the fifty United States and the District of Columbia, and is void wherever otherwise prohibited or restricted by law.

Employees, officers, contractors, agents and immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and members of the household (whether related or not) of the Sponsor and of any entity involved in the development, administration, promotion, fulfillment or execution of the Promotion are not eligible to enter or win.

Entries submitted by or on behalf of anyone who does not meet these requirements are void. The Sponsor may require proof of eligibility at any time and may disqualify any entrant who cannot promptly provide it.

3. Promotion Period and Entry Periods

The Promotion begins on the date these Official Rules are first posted and continues through the conclusion of the Half Nester™ book presale. The book is scheduled for release in April 2027 and the presale is scheduled to open in September 2026, in each case subject to change.

One or more separate drawings may be held during the Promotion. The specific entry period, prize or prizes, and drawing date for each drawing will be posted on this page before entries for that drawing close. Only entries received during a given entry period, as determined by the Sponsor’s systems, are eligible for that drawing. The Sponsor’s computer and database records are the official timekeeping and record keeping devices for the Promotion, and their determination of timeliness and validity is final.

4. How to Enter

Online entry (free). Submit your first name and a valid email address through the Half Nester™ book presale notification form at www.halfnester.com. Joining the notification list during an entry period constitutes one (1) entry into the drawing or drawings held for that entry period. There is no cost to join and no purchase of any kind is required.

Mail-in entry (free alternate method). You may also enter without submitting the online form. Hand print your full name, complete mailing address, email address, daytime telephone number, and date of birth on a plain 3x5 card and mail it in a hand addressed envelope with sufficient first class postage to: Half Nester™ Book Presale Drawings, Dr. Valerie Woo Consulting, 21785 Filigree Ct, Ashburn, VA 20147, USA. Mail-in entries must be postmarked within the applicable entry period and received no later than seven (7) days after that entry period closes. Each mail-in entry must be mailed separately. Mechanically reproduced, illegible, incomplete, postage due, or late entries are void. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, or undelivered mail. A mail-in entry receives the same weight as an online entry.

5. Entry Limits and Disqualification

Limit one (1) entry per person and per email address per entry period, regardless of method of entry. Entries submitted by any person or email address in excess of the stated limit will be void. Use of any automated system, script, bot, macro, disposable or masked email service, or any other means to submit entries, and any attempt by an entrant to obtain more than the stated number of entries, will void all of that entrant’s entries and may result in disqualification from this and future promotions.

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion, acting in violation of these Official Rules, or acting in a manner the Sponsor deems disruptive, fraudulent, abusive, or unsportsmanlike. Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. Prizes

Prizes may include Half Nester™ branded merchandise and, in one or more drawings, lifetime access to the Half Nester™ course and the Half Nester™ community. The specific prize or prizes, the number of winners, and the approximate retail value (“ARV”) of each prize will be posted on this page for each drawing before entries for that drawing close.

All prizes are awarded “as is” and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, by the Sponsor, to the fullest extent permitted by law. No cash equivalent, transfer, assignment, or substitution of a prize is permitted by a winner. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize, or any component of a prize, with one of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason.

“Lifetime access” means access for the operational lifetime of the applicable Half Nester™ course or community offering, for so long as the Sponsor continues to make that offering generally available, and does not obligate the Sponsor to operate, maintain, or continue any offering for any period of time. Lifetime access is personal to the winner, is not transferable, may not be shared, resold, or assigned, and is subject to the Half Nester™ Terms of Participation and to termination for breach of those terms.

All prize details not expressly stated are at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any portion of a prize not accepted or used by a winner is forfeited and will not be awarded.

7. Odds

The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the applicable entry period.

8. Winner Selection and Notification

Winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the applicable entry period. The drawing will be conducted by the Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Promotion.

Each potential winner will be notified at the email address submitted with the entry, and must respond and claim the prize within seven (7) days of the date the notification is sent. If a potential winner cannot be reached, does not respond within that period, declines the prize, is found to be ineligible, fails to comply with these Official Rules, or if a notification is returned as undeliverable, that potential winner forfeits the prize and the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, select an alternate winner from among the remaining eligible entries or award no prize at all. Entrants are solely responsible for providing and maintaining a valid, monitored email address and for ensuring that notifications are not blocked by a spam filter.

9. Conditions of Prize Award

Except where prohibited by law, a potential winner may be required to complete, sign, and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, and, where lawful, a publicity release, and to provide a completed IRS Form W-9 or equivalent tax documentation, within seven (7) days of the date the documents are sent. Failure to return the required documents within that period, or the return of any prize notification or document as undeliverable, results in forfeiture and the Sponsor may select an alternate winner.

All federal, state, and local taxes and any other costs, fees, or expenses associated with the acceptance or use of a prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Where the value of a prize requires it, the Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099 to the winner for the ARV of the prize.

10. Publicity

Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of a prize constitutes the winner’s consent for the Sponsor to use that winner’s first name, city and state of residence, likeness, voice, statements about the Promotion, and photographs, for advertising, promotional, and publicity purposes, in any and all media now known or later devised, worldwide, in perpetuity, without further notice, review, approval, compensation, or consideration. Residents of Tennessee, and any other jurisdiction where such consent may not lawfully be required as a condition of entry, may claim a prize without granting this consent.

11. Release and Limitation of Liability

By entering, each entrant agrees to release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless the Sponsor and its owners, officers, contractors, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, injuries, losses, damages, costs, and expenses of any kind, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating in any way to participation in the Promotion, the acceptance, receipt, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, or any travel or activity related to a prize.

The Released Parties are not responsible for: entries or communications that are lost, late, incomplete, garbled, delayed, misdirected, or not received for any reason; technical, hardware, software, network, telephone, internet, or email failures of any kind; unauthorized human intervention in the Promotion; printing, typographical, administrative, or technological errors in any materials associated with the Promotion, including these Official Rules; or any injury or damage to any person’s computer or device related to or resulting from participation in the Promotion.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will the Released Parties be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Promotion, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of the Released Parties to any entrant for any claim arising out of or relating to the Promotion will not exceed the ARV of the prize for which that entrant entered, and in no event will exceed twenty five United States dollars (US $25.00) where no prize was awarded to that entrant. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions of liability, so portions of the above may not apply to you.

12. General Conditions and Right to Modify or Cancel

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, extend, shorten, or cancel the Promotion or any drawing, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, including if any fraud, technical failure, or any other factor beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Promotion, or if the Promotion cannot be conducted as planned. If the Promotion is cancelled or terminated, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, conduct a drawing from among all eligible non suspect entries received before the action taken, or award no prize at all. Material changes to these Official Rules will be posted on this page.

No entrant acquires any right, title, or interest in any prize until that prize is actually awarded and delivered. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules does not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining Official Rules will remain in full force and effect. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

13. Disputes, Governing Law, and Arbitration

These Official Rules and any dispute arising out of or relating in any way to the Promotion are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

By entering, each entrant agrees that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the Promotion or these Official Rules that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration, and not in a court of general jurisdiction, and each entrant waives any right to a trial by jury. Arbitration will be administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider and will take place in, or be conducted remotely from, Loudoun County, Virginia. Any court proceeding permitted notwithstanding this section shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Loudoun County, Virginia, and each entrant consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.

All claims must be brought in the entrant’s individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. Each entrant agrees to seek only actual out of pocket expenses incurred in entering the Promotion, and expressly waives any right to seek attorneys’ fees and any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or multiplied damages. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain of these limitations, so they apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Privacy

Information submitted with an entry is collected by the Sponsor and used in accordance with the Half Nester™ Privacy Policy. Entering the Promotion means the Sponsor may contact you by email about the Half Nester™ book presale and about this Promotion. You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any such email, without affecting an entry already submitted.

15. No Platform Affiliation

The Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc., Facebook, Instagram, Google LLC, YouTube, Substack, or any other platform or social network. Each entrant releases those companies completely and understands that any questions, comments, or complaints regarding the Promotion must be directed to the Sponsor and not to any platform.

16. Winners List

For the first name and state of residence of the winner or winners of any completed drawing, send a self addressed stamped envelope, within ninety (90) days of that drawing, to: Half Nester™ Book Presale Drawings Winners List, Dr. Valerie Woo Consulting, 21785 Filigree Ct, Ashburn, VA 20147, USA.
