Half Nester™ (“Half Nester,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a brand operated by Dr. Valerie Woo Consulting. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you visit our website at www.halfnester.com, use our member portal and applications at my.halfnester.com, choose “Sign in with Google,” purchase or take part in our courses, programs, memberships, community, and store, or otherwise interact with us (together, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. It works alongside our Terms of Participation. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Who We Are

Half Nester™ is operated by Dr. Valerie Woo Consulting, based in Ashburn, Virginia, United States. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us any time using the details in the “Contact Us” section below.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways:

• Information you give us directly. When you create an account, sign up for our newsletter or a free guide, buy a course or product, join the community, contact us, or complete a form, we may collect your first and last name, email address, account login credentials, billing and shipping details, the content you submit (such as community posts, form and worksheet responses, testimonials, and support messages), and any other information you choose to share.
• Information from “Sign in with Google.” If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic Google profile information as described in Section 3.
• Information we collect automatically. When you use the Services, we and our analytics providers automatically collect technical and usage information, such as your device and browser type, IP address, the pages you view and links you click, referring URLs, and general location. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).

Payments. Payments are processed by our payment providers, Stripe and Kajabi. We do not collect or store your full payment-card number; that information is handled directly by those providers under their own security standards and privacy policies.

3. Sign in with Google and Google User Data

Our member portal at my.halfnester.com lets you create and access your account using “Sign in with Google.” This section describes exactly what Google user data we access, how we use it, how we store and share it, and how you can control it.

What we access. When you choose “Sign in with Google,” Google shares a limited set of basic profile information with us under the openid, email, and profile scopes. Specifically, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, language/locale, and Google account identifier (the “sub” ID). We request only these basic sign-in scopes. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or any other restricted or sensitive Google data.

How we use it. When you choose “Sign in with Google,” Half Nester receives only your basic Google profile information — your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier — under the openid, email, and profile scopes. We use this information solely to create and secure your Half Nester™ account, sign you in, and populate your member profile. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to third parties except service providers that operate the app on our behalf.

How we store and share it. Your account information, including data received from Google, is stored securely by our authentication and database provider, Supabase, on our behalf. We share it only with the service providers that operate the Services for us (see Section 6). We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train generalized or artificial-intelligence models.

Limited Use. Half Nester’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion. We retain the information received from Google for as long as your account is active. You can revoke Half Nester’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account’s third-party access settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and you may request deletion of your account and its associated data by contacting us at info@drvaleriewoo.com. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the associated Google-derived data, except where we are required to retain it by law.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• create, authenticate, and secure your account and member profile;
• provide and deliver our courses, programs, memberships, community, digital products, store orders, and free resources;
• process your payments and fulfill your orders;
• respond to your questions and provide customer support;
• send transactional messages (such as receipts, account notices, and course access) and, where you have opted in, marketing emails and newsletters (you can unsubscribe at any time);
• personalize and improve the Services and understand how they are used;
• protect the Services against fraud, spam, and abuse (including via reCAPTCHA); and
• comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Participation.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember your preferences, and understand usage. These include:

• Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, which help us measure traffic and improve the Services. We use Google Consent Mode; by default, analytics storage is enabled while advertising storage is disabled.
• Google reCAPTCHA, which helps protect our forms from spam and abuse. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
• Meta (Facebook/Instagram) tools, including a Meta pixel that may be used to measure and, where permitted, deliver our advertising.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Doing so may affect how the Services work.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described here:

• Service providers (“sub-processors”). We share information with trusted vendors who process it on our behalf to run the Services, under contracts that require them to protect it. These currently include: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (account authentication and database), Stripe and Kajabi (payment processing and course delivery), Resend (transactional and marketing email), Google (analytics, tag management, reCAPTCHA, and Sign in with Google), Meta/Facebook and Instagram (social presence and advertising), and Printify (print-on-demand order fulfillment).
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Half Nester™, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

Note on advertising. We do not sell Google user data, and we do not use Google user data for advertising. Separately, our use of advertising cookies and pixels (such as the Meta pixel) to measure or deliver ads may be considered a “sale” or “share” of other personal information under some U.S. state privacy laws; you can opt out as described in Section 7.

7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate information;
• request deletion of your information;
• opt out of marketing emails (use the unsubscribe link in any email); and
• opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We do not sell your personal information for money. To opt out of any pixel-based “sharing” for advertising, or to exercise any of the rights above, email us at info@drvaleriewoo.com. You can also limit tracking through your browser and device settings and by opting out with the ad platforms directly.

California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), and other U.S. state residents have the rights described above and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you also have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection; our legal bases for processing are your consent, the performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interests in operating the Services. To make a request, contact us at info@drvaleriewoo.com; we will verify and respond as required by applicable law, and you may use an authorized agent where permitted.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, and afterward only as long as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

9. How We Protect Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and keep our practices current.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Visitors

We are based in the United States and process information here. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may link to or rely on third-party websites and platforms (for example, Kajabi, Stripe, and our social media pages). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third party you interact with.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, if the changes are material, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
